Zavod D&K manages and coordinates different projects and strategic associations together with other entities from the European Union and other countries. One of these entities is Fundacija Sursum, an association which presides the network among countries from Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans ESBAL. This Net’s purpose is to boost the cooperation between Spanish associations and those of Eastern Europe and the Balkans, for integral human development, as well as performing all those international development cooperation activities required in those European countries and the Balkans, with the aim of contributing to their cultural, social and economic development.

Fundacija Sursum

Fundacija Sursum is a non-profit and non-governmental organization, which was founded in 2007 in Ljubljana, in order to promote an integral, human and cultural formation of the person.

The mission of Fundacija Sursum is to carry out activities geered towards the training, education and sociocultural promotion of the people- especially women, immigrants, and the youth in the Republic of Slovenia, the European Union and other countries.

The aim of the association is to encourage the integration of European countries and to coordinate, manage and carry out activities and cultural exchanges between citizens of the European Union at all levels in order to share knowledge and experiences, to harness the potential of intercultural training and to improve relationships with people of other cultures, promoting solidarity, tolerance and respect for others.

For the last 5 years, Sursum has taken part as ‘partner’ in different projects from the European Union’s program Juventud en Acción, Grundvig y Europa para los ciudadanos con entidades de Gran Bretaña, Suecia, Irlanda, Letonia, Polonia, Portugal y España. And since January 2014, Sursum is also partner in a second project form the UE.

Through these activities, Sursum has been working along with professors from the University of Ljubljana and the University of Maribor, two of the most important universities of the country, and also with the Havard Virtuous Leadership Institute, from Moscow, Russia.
